The ATI TEAS® (version 7) has 170 questions, 150 scored and 20 unscored, in 209 minutes. It has four sections: Reading (45 questions, 55 minutes), Math (38 questions, 57 minutes), Science (50 questions, 60 minutes) and English and Language Usage (37 questions, 37 minutes).

Section by section

The 20 unscored questions

Each section mixes in a few pretest questions that ATI is trying out. They don't count, but you can't tell which ones they are, so treat every question as scored.

What's inside Science

Science is the longest section and the one most people worry about. Its 44 scored questions split into human anatomy and physiology (18), biology (9), chemistry (8) and scientific reasoning (9). Anatomy and physiology alone is about 40% of the section.

Pacing

Science gives you about 72 seconds a question and Math about 90. English is the tightest at about 60 seconds. If a question stalls you, mark your best guess and move on; there is no penalty for a wrong answer.
